Review by Thomas Hyde, D.C., DACBSP
The first segment of the course is Posture Analysis Specialist. I thought this was very nicely done. First the DVD - You begin with correct posture positions, which is a must, then how to inflate the ball, seems simple but so many people have no clue how to even do this. The guidelines section is also helpful and while providing the basics, at least gives the user the opportunity to learn from the beginning, how things are done correctly rather than developing bad habits from things they have seen or heard from others. Even some of our docs have no clue where to begin. The exercise section was also very good including Posture 101. The manual offers a quick reference to the contents of the DVD. Even though for the beginner, many, many people need this first step.
The second segment of the course is Core Training Specialist. This was also very easy to follow but designed for a different body function, core training vs. focus on the posture in the first book and DVD. Again, I thought these were well thought out, basic but designed to do just what you want to accomplish, that is have someone learn the basics, step by step with each section. They can view the DVD, which is very friendly to use, allowing you to jump from one category to the next very easily. You have access to some excellent information quickly and then have the book to refer to for additional information. I like the images with explanations for each.
The third and final segment of the course is Flexibility Training Specialist. Same format as others. A nice presentation of stretching with a user friendly DVD and book.
Overall, you will find this seminar exceptional for helping patients enhance posture, stabilize the core musculature and improve flexibility. This course provides demonstrations for over 150 corrective and basic exercises. This investment in education provides your patients with access to a broader array of training programs and the best possible fitness instruction.
