Exercise Protocol Specialist Course

There are three segments to the Chiropractic Continuing Education Course - Exercise Protocol Specialist.
See below for details of each segment.

Segment 1 - Posture Analysis Specialist

A loss of range of motion or strength, numbness or a tingling feeling in the limbs are all symptoms that are related to poor posture and prohibit proper walking gait, comfortable sleeping situations and effective participation in activities. Posture correction will help patients get back to performing activities of daily living with ease. This segment will show you how to design and implement a conditioning program to help restore proper posture for patients. Plus:

• Understand the importance of stabilization to maintain proper body alignment.
• Find out beneficial tips to share with clients to improve posture.
• Learn simple conditioning moves (no equipment needed) for common repetitive motions.
• Review guidelines and benefits when using the stability ball to improve posture.

• Gain postural assessment knowledge to help determine the appropriate therapeutic exercises to implement with patients.

Course Segment 2 - Core Training Specialist

Core training provides the body with a working foundation. You'll learn to start with the basics and then add equipment when patients are able to properly engage the transverses and pelvic floor musculature. A systematic approach will help prevent the incidence of lower back injury and pain, ensure efficient movement patterns and correct posture. Plus:

• Learn to teach your clients how to effectively recruit the trunk musculature and control the position of the lumbar spine.
• Review the muscles involved and the fundamentals of core training.
• Find out beneficial tips to share with clients for a stronger core.
• Amplify knowledge of core training exercises in preparation for dynamic core movements.

• Find out beneficial tips to share with clients for a stronger core.

Course Segment 3 - Flexibility Training Specialist

The goal of any stretching program is to improve muscle flexibility. Flexible muscles enhance joint mobility, promote structural integrity and improve overall muscular performance. Help patients to effectively improve range of motion and encourage active movement patterns using the stability ball. Plus:

• Amplify assessment knowledge for flexibility.
• Learn stretching techniques to improve flexibility while improving balance & posture.
• Understand the muscles being used and the importance in each stretch.
• Gain insight on approaches for individuals who cannot stretch on the floor.
• Find out beneficial tips to share with patients for increased flexibility.
• Review guidelines and benefits when using the stability ball to develop flexibiliy.

Course Segment 1 - Posture Analysis Specialist. I thought this was very nicely done. You begin with correct posture positions, which is a must, then how to inflate the ball, seems simple but so many people have no clue how to even do this. The guidelines section is also helpful and gives the user the opportunity to learn from the beginning, how things are done correctly, rather than developing bad habits from things they have seen or heard from others. Even some of our docs have no clue where to begin. Additional postural tips are included and these offer excellent information to share with patients.

Course Segment 2 - Core Training Specialist. This was very easy to follow, but designed for a different body function, core training versus focus on the posture in the first segment of the course. I thought the conditioning exercises were well thought out - designed to do just what you want to accomplish - that is, have someone learn the basics, step by step and progress slowly to more challenging exercises.

Course Segment 3 - Flexibility Training Specialist. Same format as the other two segments which made the course overall very easy to follow and comprehend. This segment offered a nice presentation of stretching, breaking the conditioning part of the program into three flexibility routines.

In sum, this course provides demonstrations for over 150 corrective and basic exercises. Each of the segments includes a DVD and CD. You can view the DVD, which is very friendly to use, allowing you to jump from one category to the next very easily. You have access to some excellent information quickly and then have the CD to refer to for additional information. I especially liked the images with the provided explanations on each of the CDs.

Overall, you will find this course exceptional for helping patients enhance posture, stabilize the core musculature and improve flexibility. This investment in education provides your patients with access to a broader array of training programs and the best possible fitness instruction.
